"The figure of the human body is not only one of the most appreciated forms of art in society today, but also one of the most feared. Modern westernised societies claim to love and embrace the rawness of the naked form, while others show uneasiness or fear the mere sight of bare skin. There are very few things in the world that are more intimate, special or personal then our own bodies. There is a saying in western society: "Treat your body as a Temple." People from all walks of life have different morals, ethics, cultural views, values and beliefs that reflect their attitudes or beliefs; so therefore also, how they respond to art on the human form. Art on the human body however, is not a new trend. In simple, elaborate and extreme ways, humans have perhaps for hundreds of thousands of years decorated, adorned, marked, scared, modified and continually changed our physical appearances as well as the world around us. The appearance of the human figure has been adorned with artwork in its various forms within each civilization around the world. In many countries the artwork is worn with great pride and used in rituals or celebrations. Art adorning the body tends to fall into one of three different categories. These categories are Permanent, Semi-permanent and Temporary.
Here at The Face Painters and Body Artists, we are proud to say we use all three methods to create our masterpieces.

Maternity Belly Painting
& Professional Photography
Celebrate your pregnancy with a Belly Painting and Maternity Photoshoot to remember the milestone. Belly Painting is a fun and artistic way to capture a moment of time during your pregnancy, and is a relaxing and therapeutic experience as well. Turning your body into fine art for a wall hanging masterpiece and keepsake that can be passed on in generations to come, Belly Painting is a must, at least once during your pregnancy.
Collaborate with your artist, Rhiannon, for design as unique and individual as you are. Designs can vary greatly from just a belly bump to a whole body maternity painting. The sky is the limit. All paints used in the process are all professional quality face and body paints that have been FDA approved, water based paints which wash off easily afterwards. Rhiannon uses Global Colours professional body paints. An MSDS form for their products can be found on this website for further assurance of the paints quality.
Painting can take place in the comfort of your own home or in the studio or in a scenic location, depending on where you would like your photo-shoot to take place.
Belly Painting can be incorporated into your Baby Shower Celebration also. Or with other family members such as the father and younger children. Belly Painting can also be a fun thing to do with other expectant mothers; another way to celebrate growing bodies and friendships.
Prices range greatly and all depend on the design chosen. Prices start at $290 and upwards for a simple belly paint with 10 x Professional High Resolution Digital Photographs to cherish for a lifetime. Please contact us to discuss your ideas and get a quote.
